I have just ordered the BoM for the new cap/bridge set up that was a lot more, like the diodes I use are that total bom cost each. So I would sugegst a very fair cost Ali

Cheers Tony, yes looks very reasonable. Be a few weeks before I get the amps, Joe is busy so I’ll have to be patient. :-)

You can use what you like in the psu, 88,000uf and 400va toroidy in mine per channel, with qspeeds. With -96db of psrr though it really don't matter.

I can't see the circuit boards. The F5 that he's selling on ebay has X5 green boards and they don't look like they support balanced inputs either. .

Should be here by Wednesday Oli, though won't get to try them for a while as I spend most of my time at my other half's place. When I get a chance I'll post up some photos. Rest of the system consists of- BTE Designs modified GL75 with Mission 774 arm and Kiseki Blue, to which I've added an SPH bearing, a choice of Modwright or Allnic phono stages (used with Tribute SUT), Lumin D2 streamer, Rotel RC-1590 preamp (Good bit of kit and has a built in AK DAC which I like). These will feed the monos and then onto IPL Acoustics S5TL's.
There are a couple of TT's waiting in the wings - an SP10 which is waiting on a Panzerholz plinth from Angus, which I plan on using with a Terminator arm, and I also have a NOS Garrard 401 in storage, for which I have a twin tier slate plinth.
When I get the time I'll be moving all my gear to my partner's place, where I'll be fortunate enough to have a dedicated listening room in the spacious loft.

Forgot the Creek CD-60, a classic TDa1541 cd player which I fire up occasionally.

I have Aleph 60 monoblocks but previously had an Aleph 30, which at the levels that I listened at was possibly better. They don't sound like an F5 though - they are less accurate than the F5. .

would that potentially cause hum or degrade sound ?

would that potentially cause hum or degrade sound ? Well I think using XLR degrades the sound by default of them being brass connections usually, but wiring from the XLR socket to the PCB could be done Psuedo, and no, I don't think it would be an issue as that's how my 686 is done, but to RCA on the chassis.

Oli, was curious what Angus had said to put you off regarding the P6 monos?
I compared them to my 86 at an Owston- only a quick comparison on unfamiliar gear- and in the short time I had to listen I was struggling to hear much if any difference.

Yes, the 86 came with RCA’s wired in. I swapped them to XLR because of my preamp.
