Well CMC arn't what they are advertised as being, a quick file down seems to show a nice golden shiney colour, BRASS, perhaps? Looks like it's cardas for me.

Well CMC arn't what they are advertised as being, a quick file down seems to show a nice golden shiney colour, BRASS, perhaps? Looks like it's cardas for me. CMC have a few variants of binding posts. Some are gold plated brass and advertised as such, some are gold plated copper and a little bit more expensive. Sounds like you've got some of the former.
