Wondered about moving up from a NuPrime CDT-9 with the LPS 212 power supply. That likely means an upgrade to the Audio Sensibility SE SPDIF cable. On the southern end of the system, I have Odyssey Audio Kismet floor-standing speakers on 3-inch thick Sapele wood platforms (16 Dayton Audio SSN cones sandwiching the speakers, platform, and tile flooring above concrete). Gee, that's a mouthful, eh?
In the middle is the Border Patrol Sei SPDIF version DAC. My power plant is Odyssey Audio monoblocks - Khartago upgraded to Kismet level. So, how much further up would I have to go with a transport and digital cable to get a bit more tonal balance, better soundstage, and tighter imaging? Grazi...

If you still insist on playing cd's and not going with the streaming option, there are 4 brands I would suggest to upgrade on your NuPrime. I will assume you are from the USA, I don't believe there are that many users of Odyssey Audio this side of the pond, so giving links maybe not that helpful to you, but here goes. 1. Jays Audio CDT2 mk3: Big advantage with this one you can purchase a spare transport, and from everything I've read and heard a great player. You will probably have to purchase from Singapore or China. www.jays-audio.com/cdt2-mk32 TEAC VRDS 701T: A new release, can only go by TEAC's reputation for great cd players in the past. www.hifi.blog/teac-70th-anniversary-models-teac-vrds-701-cd-player-and-teac-vrds-701t-cd-transport/3 CEC: I'm sure you will have heard of this brand, you can choose your own level of expenditure. 4 Esoteric: Another brand you can choose your own level of expenditure, could be a good 2nd hand buy. Why do you have to upgrade to Audio Sensibility digital cable, I'm sure they are as good as anyone else for similar money. What cable are you using at present? Oh, welcome to the forum again.

gosh there are so many transports now audiolab have some superb transports . the 6000cdt seems to garner so much praise , one chap preferring it to the new cdt 9000 . I saw that this week and its really lovely so quiet and feels good . not bad for 1k
the 7000 cdt is nice too , build feels good . slight drive noise on the cdt7000 when i heard it playing this week
as antonio mentions the new 701 which is 2k
so much choice . if you have loads of £££ the moon cdt 260 is worth a look
the 9000 is top of my list due to its price and quietness in running

I've got a Jay's Audio CDT2 MK2 that I've upgraded to MK3. I purchased the upgrade and a spare drive from Willow Tree Audio, who are the UK distributors. You can get the transport cheaper by going to Vinshine Audio in Singapore. It's built like a tank and will provide years of service.
Another option is to keep the NuPrime and buy a Mutec MC3+ USB to sit between your transport and your DAC. You can buy an AES/EBU cable to sit between the transport and the Mutec and use your SPDIF cable to connect the Mutec to the DAC.
