Ahh I see as I turn my clock off when the system is off I have not tried this option as the clock is down stairs and my pc upstairs . Was reading that this adds to the sound quality so once it is more easily accessible will give it a try . Presume they will make it just an on and off feature .

This is a question that I have been meaning to ask but have not . Using the LB clock Tony has mentioned a few times that you need to reconnect the clock to your PC and the control software about once a month . Firstly what is the purpose of this ? Secondly does that apply if you leave the LB clock powered up 24/7 as many do ? I only have the LB clock on one system and when I turn that off I turn the LB Clock off as well . So each time that i turn it back on it takes about 30 seconds or so to find the GPS on output one and then the light goes solid once it locks on . As this is happening each time and i presume the clock is recalibrating each time in line with the settings does this mean I do not have to plug it in the PC ? I know obvious questions but I am not sure about what Tony is doing the monthly reset for so best to ask and be sure .
It has also gone quiet about the firmware update I have checked a couple of time but it is still at version 1.17 .

Just a bit of information sharing for those following this . I sent an email to LB asking if the new firmware Tony mentioned after his visit was ready or been announced . I got a reply back to say they are currently very busy with designing and building a new higher precision clock which will be released soon and that they had forgotten about the firmware but that it would be added to next week's things to do . So there is hope now the new firmware will be released but also the prospect of a new 'better' clock being released just hope the cost will be closer to the current model rather than the HiFi versions .

To keep up with my promise to update and for the fact that LB have been good enough to answer their messages when I am sure they are still very busy I have copied here the answer I got recently from Simon .
Hi Andrew,
We have worked out the flow of a permanent sleep mode now, it will take a short while for us to implement. I estimate the new clock will be a 3-6 months before sale, and should be several 10s of db better in phase noise that the current GPS clock,

Oli I suspect you may not be too far from the truth on that . Good thing is they are going to continue to make and sell the original clock as well so it then becomes a buyer choice based on do they want the nTh degree of specification and are prepared to pay accordingly or is 90% of the musical improvement which can then be improved with the choice of clock cable be enough ? I have already made up my mind about this and will act accordingly .

Not sure if anyone has already posted this elsewhere but just in case it has not I have received an e-mail from Simon of Leo Bodnar which details that there is now a new issue of the firmware to control the LB clock and this includes an automatic sleep facility . This is so once you have set the clock up and it is locked you can then set it to make the CPU sleep which uses less power and makes the clock even quieter . "Hi, I have added a feature called “autosleep”. This will need the v1.3 version of the app to work. However the device will still be compatible with the old sofware, but auto sleep mode will not be changeable. Auto sleep will cause the device to go into sleep mode on power up, if it is enabled, and the config app is not seen in 60s. The device can be forced into sleep mode in the app as before, with the “Sleep Now” button. " The device will toggle its LEDs when in autosleep mode before sleeping. To remove the device from sleep mode, the config app can be run and the auto sleep mode disabled. The device will not go into sleep mode when the config app is running."
Just to say that you download this and it opens and looks exactly like the previous version but there is now a box to tick for auto sleep . Not sure I have mentioned this here but if you only use one output of the LB Clock then make it output 2 and untick output 1 . In this mode the LED for output one stays off . Again using less power and reducing noise (very slight but all reductions are welcome) . If you use Output 1 then Output 2 if not used flashes constantly and it can not be turned off .
