Phew... You're all back! A whole weekend without the site loading on my phone or laptop - severe withdrawal issues!

Hi all, Firstly, thank you for your patience while we sorted out the issues over the last few days. It looks as though we are fully back up and running. For a brief explanation, when i took over the forum from the original creator, there was a transference of details and domain names etc. However, it appears that in doing so the registration of who to notify when the domain was due to expire was not changed, and the original owner got the notification instead of me. Thankfully, he gave me the heads up that it was expired but neither of us realised until it was too late. Cue a catalogue of internet drama and grief for a few days. The cost of repurchasing the domain name was not insignificant, and in truth, at one point yesterday i wasn't going to bother. However, the sheer amount of communication i received from forum contributors and readers via emails, texts, whatsapp messages and messages via other forums was astonishing. I had no idea how well read this forum is! So, we are back for another two years at least  |

Well done Oli, thanks for persevering.
Although annoying, it's probably served a useful purpose to actually highlight how important a bit of familiarity and stability something as seemingly 'trivial' as a website can be to people.
Of course it's not just a website, it's a great community and whether you log in once an hour or once a month, it's an important tool.

Glad its sorted. When you switched to the temporary domain name I just replaced the old DNS name with the new one when jumping around the forum and all was good (using my MAC) Lets hope we get a good 2 years out of the money you had to pay to get the domain back |

If anyone wants to donate to the forum, I am always grateful, no pressure to do so though and it must be voluntary.....I don't want to get into requiring payment, issuing special badges etc etc. That's not what we're about.
