Instead of hijacking Firebottles thread I thought I'd start a new one. I got the Mutec MC3+USB installed in my system today.
I have a heavily modded Sonos streamer connected via spdif to the Mutec. For this to happen I had to use a RCA-BNC adapter on the Mutec end. I also have my (also modded) Audiolab 6000CDT transport connected to the Mutec via AES.
It's far too early to make any judgements of the sound, but at this stage I feel everything sounds more organized, like the sound is decluttered.
I aim to keep it in the chain for some time and then remove it to see if I can perceive any differences.
After some consultation with the ever helpful MisterC I got both AES and spdif BNC inputs to work. Very happy right now.
