Hi can anyone tell me what the wattage is on this amp please ? all I know from what I have researched so far is that it could be anything from 25w to 50w it's a 1997 Cambridge audio A1 MK3 ver 2.0 Cheers  |

Just read the bumf on the board it says 80w dynamic power Is that peak or RMS ?

Just read the bumf on the board it says 80w dynamic power Is that peak or RMS ? That sounds like the kind of thing you'd read if you were buying some cack music centre or midi system made by Alba or Amstrad or Steepletone from a Freemans or Grattan catalogue - made them seem more powerful than they really were. Described as "peak music power", it was roughly half their true power. I wouldn't have expected a decent quality amp manufacturer like Cambridge Audio to use those kind of figures. |

Looks like it's a bit under powered for the elac b6.2s I'm saving for I may have to purchase a new amp too !!

Geoff, I picked up one of these a couple of months ago, and it's a belter imo. 50wpc, built-in phono (might come in handy one day), nicely built and finished. Happy to bring it over sometime so you could try it with your speakers. Oh and it also comes in black   |
