Looking for that being there experinace, reality served on a plate, boundaryless expanse of sound, all for littrle more than time, tape and a trips to the plumbers merchant
Forget the Wilson/Magico/YG/Martens?Mbl's/Gryphon's etc

Another approach, concept, clearly - interesting I guess. Placement of such a speaker wouldnt be exactly ideal for most conventional properties is one observation and the speaker box didnt sound bad at all, just different in tone to my ears, less upper frequency nuanced. Doesnt change anything for me - as I say, another approach/idea option.

Doesn't the TOTR Bang & Olufsen speaker have drivers facing in different directions?

Doesn't the TOTR Bang & Olufsen speaker have drivers facing in different directions? It does Alan, but its 75K and average at best
Ideally suited to well helled hipsters who 'feel' they know about sound

It's the same sort of principle, squirt the sound around not just in front.

Doesn't the TOTR Bang & Olufsen speaker have drivers facing in different directions? yes but totally different principle. Although they do have a setting to spray the sound around if you want that, the main purpose of the rear and side facing drivers is to get a cardoid response i.e better quality bass.

Although he is a B&O nut so that might be partial explanation. Not had a go on them myself but I'd like to.

You could get them at a knock-down price at one time, about forty grand, don't know if you stll can. Think I remember him saying that he didn't pay anywhere close to list for them.

These ones I presume? I think they look great, I would give them house room, if I had a house with enough room. And a couple of million under the mattress.

I think they look a bit like an inter-dimensional portal that's in the process of collapsing. But that might just be me.

Many years ago, circa 1975, my mum and dad had a good but small hotel in a Northumberland coastal village. In the main bar they had a genuine George Adams marble fireplace, and due to some big renovations, it was not needed. I was only 15 at the time, (so pre hi fi days) They sold it to a Dr who lived in Preston with his family, he asked us over to see it in its new home. He had a home built set of speakers, made from big field drainage drains, with the speakers in the bottom and external X overs, and remember him playing Rod Stewarts new release, "Sailing"... it sounded quite good in comparison to my mums 1972/3 B&o
