Hello Folks, I have now upgraded to a BT2, so am selling my Grounded Grid Valve Preamplifier. Lots of info on the Web, but in summary it's a line stage valve preamp with 3 inputs. It is the upgraded version with a stepped attenuator and a high quality selector switch. I believe the stepped attenuator is worth nearly £200 on it's own. The unit works perfectly. It is great unit as is, or has the potential for further upgrades. It is in great condition and comes with JJ Valves included - I had planned to upgrade these, but never quite got round to it. £350 + Delivery or collection

I can vouch for this pre, I heard it a couple of days ago, certainly worth the money.

Where are you based? There may be option to try it for a demo? I assume it would work very well, although a technical guru may be able to comment further.

I used this pre amp with my Primaluna Dialogue Premium HP Power Amp and thought it was excellent. Only reason I sold it was that I went integrated to reduce box count so I could add a streamer to my rack without adding another shelf.
Don't think any buyer would be disappointed with it.

I'm in Bristol. I'm just trying to decide what to use, Passive etc. I'm new to the pre/power amp setup, I've been integrated the majority of the time. Let me have a look around today and see what others have been using. Thanks again!

I tried a few passive pre amps with my power amp, I tried BTE, Slagle, Tisbury, Django, Townsend Allegri+ but and they just didn't excite me the way an active one did. A demo would be worth it for sure.

@bigman80 "Avoid silver wiring."
I'll pull you up on this one since I know you have heard silver interconnects and were very impressed them.
I still use a silver digital cable between my streamer and dac.

Impressed for silver, and I firmly expect that anything hardwired with silver wouldnt have THAT silver in it....so I stand by the golden rule.

If you compare a lot of stuff (even on the second hand market) to preamps around this price, I really doubt you could do much better.
Glad it's found a new home.
