Following Robbiegong's great idea, I thought I would get it started with this: These are glazing pads, for protecting glass during transit. About 1" square, roughly 4mm thick, I think they're ideal for going between speakers and shelves, or speakers and stands. Only slightly tacky, so won't upset speakers' veneer, quite grippy, so much better than blu tack. This set of 100 about 3 quid on Ebay, but any local glazing firm would give you a few for free if you smile sweetly at them. I get mine for free

Off the top of my head, that Monoprice rack, mentioned on this forum previously takes some beating.

I'm going to have a bitch about this, not the products themselves, the company in the UK it is illeage to sell goods online without a contact point visable on the website, if you advertising goods and NOT selling on line then thats fine, but online sales require a UK contact address. For sure they are not the only one, but it really piddles me off as so many of thes elarge compaies seem to gte away with F__K that no more.

Monoprice are based in Germany and items are shipped to the uk, they pay customs fees etc, I think monoprice.uk is the English language version of the monoprice.de website?

I contacted Monoprice and this was the reply:-
We don't have an address in the UK. Our EU headquarter is in Berlin, Germany:
**Monoprice GmbH** Stresemannstraße 123 10963 Berlin, Germany
Our warehouse is in Venlo, Netherlands.
The answer came back within 6hrs, German efficiency.

Interesting, but someone has ordered this rack and been very happy with it. Maybe they built their HQ there since that photo was taken? Yes I'm sure the rack is fine and price is very reasonable. I'd never advise anyone to spend serious money on a rack. Well not the hifi type anyway.

I have one and for the the money I think it's a pretty decent, I paid £103.99 for one and they're now down to £90.99. I've posted this photo before but at least it'll give those that might be interested in one as to how it looks when filled 😊

OMG, I can imagine what the end result would be - just a random pile of splintered timber offcuts. And blood, probably quite a lot of blood.

Have you based your unit shelves on these or free standing isolation shelves? Have a look on page 13 second the last post. audioaddictsforum.com/thread/1251/rexblog?page=13 The ikea chopping boards were not large enough for what I wanted altough they could be used I suppose. I'm going to be making a new plinth for the Garrard 301 with x2 12" tonearm outriggers so I need a big shelf to house it and the Towneshend seismic platform that the 301 lives on. I can now level any shelf unllike the German one demonstrated earlier and these shelves have a good damp value of 0.22, the German one is probably MDF or at best birch ply which is unlikely at that price.
