Love the top plate. Just in terms of aesthetics it finishes it all off. Yeah really really classy looking, superb stuff. Now if only you could 'raise' the wood 'square' area supporting the arm to fit flush with the top plate or lower the top platter around the wooden 'square'.... I'm not saying I could or even know if it's possible but that would be ultimate level.... Do you mean raise the arm board to fit flush with the Aluminium?

That's lovely looking. Agreed about matching the armboard height to the ally top plate.

Yeah, or remove enough material for the aluminium to sit flush if raising it is not possible (for whatever reason). Imagine that would be insanely hard if not impossible to do though..... Probably easier to make the correct size and thickness of panzer to do it. Anyway, just a thought still looks incredible as it is.

Nice one Rob , It’s only taken 6 months to get it over the line . Don’t know how I coped . I’ve been spinning none stop Reminds me of my own a lot 'cept for the top plate. How you finding the Ti ? Yeah it’s very similar isn’t it Rob . The feet make a really nice difference too if you can find a set . The Ti is absolutely brilliant Rob . It’s just so clean , neutral and natural sounding and very even handed , just how I like my sound to be. Oliver certainly was impressed with it at his place and he’s heard a standard Winny. I will be comparing it to my Zyx Omega X this weekend which is another monster cart that’s in the same performance and sound bracket . Should be an interesting battle

I have some left over aluminum that I could bond to the bottom of the armboard to bring it flush but in all honesty it just doesn’t bother me enough to do it 😂 And seeing as I’ve only just got the vinyl up and running again after 6 months I can’t see me dismantling it to do the work just yet. I’m too busy catching up on my pile of records I’ve bought during the wait ….. and there’s a lot 😂

Looks fine from here. Leave it alone and get on with listening to some vinyl.

I've heard a few ZYX's courtesy of mi mate Andy-Electronumpty who lives locally. I have always been impressed with how they deliver the music, never lean, thin or bleached, excellent textural and timbrel sounds and vocals, natural - I'm an Ortofon addict but have always thought I could defo live with one, going by those I've heard - I think you are going to be impressed with the Omega X - obviously loading and set up will be more so vital, as is with any of these quality Microlines - look forward to your findings and report on it

It's only the sort of thing that could be achieved with a custom workshop anyway so was not really expecting it to be possible. Enjoy the new vinyl and welcome back!

The alu top was how I planned to do my SP10 plinth once I had the panzer plinth here, it was going to be 10-12mm thick brushed alu, but as I couldn't find the cutout plans anywhere for free I dropped the idea. I had been inspired by the Acoustand Alu version but that was far too expensive and it was on an mdf base if I remember right.
