Does anyone know of a contact or place that services Plinius amps ? Thoroughly enjoying mine and would love to have it serviced at some point, towards longevity

How old is it Robbie, do Plinius amps need servicing, what would need doing, it's not a Naim. Only asking out of curiosity, not out of devilment as is my usual want.

Hey Dave, always a good idea to have used kit you've acquired looked over/serviced by a tech, kind of makes sense to ensure optimum performance, maintenance, especially if you really like and enjoy the thing, longevity and all that obvious stuf - I thought you'd have know that Dave - your question does feel a bit odd Age ? - Probs anytime from 2008....

John Sampson does servicing/repairs, but can also offer "upgrades". Only heard good things about him. I had a lengthy phone chat with him recently, the upshot being that I will be using his services in the New Year.

I pass a few jobs on to John when we are overloaded particularly amps. Although we are the offical Plinius service centre in the UK along with many other brands.

That's good to know Tony, So he's worked on Plinius amps ? I know he has a seriously highly regarded reputation for work on Musical Fidelity and other amps - amazing testimonials.

I am fairly sure that Pass Labs are currently servicing and recapping their amps from the late 1990s. (I queried them about a X150 amp I had a few years ago). So assuming similar build and component quality there is another decade before yours needs looking at.

I've never taken an amplifier for a service except for a pair of Naim 135's. I understand if it is 14+ yrs, I did not realise it was quite as old as that.

I got my Xp100 pre amp and a3.2cr power amp upgraded by John. He did a great job - thoroughly recommended.

A bit of a bargain I thought. 250wpc and bags of current. John offers a stage 1 upgrade for £700, a stage 2 for £1200 (which is what I'll be getting). A shedload of higher spec parts, and a lot of consultation with the owner. A bloke at the 'Wam show had one, running a pair of Boenicke W8s, and was more than happy with it. Said it weighs loads more than standard, I'm assuming it's not bricks
