After trashing my Gullwing I swore off expensive MC's forever, and was intending to get something like a Nagaoka MP500 and have done with it. £200 or so for a new stylus sounded a lot better then the thick end of three grand.. So of course when one of these came up new at a good price I bought it- www.analogueseduction.net/cartridges2/Kisekiphono.htmlSo much for sticking to my guns. Of course, as soon as I fitted it, my Modwright phono stage has decided to have a hissy fit, so I've not even been able to have a proper listen yet. There's a phono stage in my pre, but whilst it works fine it's distinctly average, so I haven't heard what the cart can do yet. Bloody vinyl, sometimes don't know why I bother lol. |

That's a good looking cart!
Vinyl does seem to spend most of it's time throwing a wobbly, doesn't it lol.
Stick with it mate. Be good to hear what you think after a proper listen.

Vinyl is a bugger. I've had so many "why do I bother" moments that I've lost count. I'm just going through the process now with a new-ish deck. I just do things bit-by-bit usually works!

Vinyl is a roller coaster, most definitely not for the faint hearted, will take all your money, keep you up at night, fill you with anxiety, take your excitement, smash it to the floor and kick it about like a school yard bully....
Saddle up and hold on tight, it's gonna be a bumpy ride - vinyl...

Congratulations on your purchase, I'm assuming you're still using that great looking tt that I can't remember the name of, but I'm sure it deserves an MC cartridge. Since recently selling my tt, couldn't be happier knowing I no longer have to fanny around with vinyl any longer, selling my LP's is a bit of a nightmare, but I'm getting there.

Cheers mate, have three TT’s, though only one of Ant’s modified GL75’s in use at the moment. Am awaiting a plinth from Angus for my SP10, and have a NOS 401 in storage with a twin tier slate plinth. The deck’s never been touched so will need a service before use
It would definitely be simpler and less stressful to sell the lot, but I’m not ready for that just yet. :-)
