Looks like one of my valves is playing up on my valve amp (Puresound A30) and wondering if anyone has a pair of 6N8P valves for sale at a fair price?
Cheers

6N8P (chinese equivalent of 6SN7/6N8S etc etc) gives you a lot of options.
They can be amp/system dependant or indeed what you want your system to sound like overall (I'm sure you know this), but for example if you want maximum bass impact a pair of Ken Rad 6SN7GT's (VT231) would be a good place to go, for a holographic/airy presetation some NOS Tung-Sol or Sylvania. In my expereince (probably had around 50+ 6SN7's) top to bottom most of the RCA ones are really the most balanced performers giving good bass and extension. Another suggestion (which I've happily used in many systems) is the Russian "6H8C" valve (same as 6SN7). In some systems it's actually sounded better than all of the above. They are very ruggedly constructed and just sound right in a lot of applications.
I have a few of these NOS Russian ones in matched/balanced pairs if you'd like to try some.
Call it £30 including delivery and if they're not for you just post them back for full refund?
Stay away from most of the Chinese variants though and also I haven't really enjoyed any new production Tung-Sol, Electro Harmoinix etc, they're just not a patch on NOS offerings in my opinion.
Cheers
