Just seen this so thought a few on here would also appreciate it: audio-yukiseimitsu.com/en/and just for a bit of fun in this age of high price tt's, how much do you think this one retails for in Japan, you might be surprised.

So good they don't even need to publish the W&F on the specs I see . . . .

optical Any guesses on price Chris, you killjoy I like the drive and platter setup, looks very minimal contact points/balanced etc and the controls and knobs do look good. Arm looks old to me but can't judge it purely on looks, but that's all they're selling it on thus far (hence my gripe regarding the omission of the most basic TT spec). You wouldn't have posted it if it was within the realms of reasonable so I'll go 25k. For a machined aluminum REGA . . . PR team in overdrive, they can have all the wallpaper of meaningless handwritten equations floating about that they want but still no proper specs. I concede their target market will buy it on looks and waffle so job done. Joy Killed.

So, non contact, but runs of a ball, straight arm, so the worst possible tracking correct only one point, not two.

The Yamaha GT-5000 has a straight arm and headshell arrangement, so they too must think it works. More info on the Yuki - HERE and HERE

I'm gonna guess at £12k, and that's £11k more than I think it would cost to buy a TT that is better or equivalent in performance.

¥2-million price tag apparently, someone can workout the GBP £ equivalent, but my guess is daft spondoolies
Edit - Just over £12k, Blimey !

Cheat, that spoils the objective of this thread as being a 'bit of fun' The price I was going to say was 14,000euros, my guess would have been closer to Optical's at £25k

@bigman Why do you think this tt wouldn't perform, I thought you were a great believer in Japanese turntable know how? Belt drive. My sentiment too, not necessarily that it wouldn't / couldn't perform to a good level, but I just cant get away from an elastic band or in this case dental floss, running round a tt as part of it's engineering, I just cant. and then having experienced and knowing the lock tight timing of a good quartz locked japanese tt .....

They are not the only manufacturer to use a 'dental floss' type belt, Well Tempered spring to mind, and they have a great reputation for sounding musical.

That particular TT can be bettered by a £1k TT. If you want to see how a belt drive *SHOULD* be done, have a butchers at the Techdas. That happens to be Japanese too 😉

Very few guesses for he amount of members that have viewed this thread, what's wrong with you all, it's not a shooting offence if you get it wrong. Didn’t guess because I knew the price It looks remarkably similar to another deck I’ve seen, an older one, so I think like ProJect with the Micro Seiki clone they have copied from another deck but I can’t remember where I saw it, it’s out there already or very similar anyway.

Handy for lab experiments too 😛

If you want to see how a belt drive *SHOULD* be done, have a butchers at the Techdas. Or the latest SME which in some instances measures better than a SP10.

Only the model 60 as far as I'm aware You need to spend £40k+ for a Model 30, so I dread to think what it costs to beat that humble SP10 with an SME TT
