For Sale is a hand built 6V6 based valve phono stage.
Valve rectified power supply. MM input only.
Each valve (including the rectifier) has been chosen specifically to be of the absolute best sound quality in its position and quiet also. Balanced, matched and purchased as NOS so probably less than 30 hours on all of them.
Comes in a two piece power supply/preamp combination in stunning Red Meranti wood and copper finish.
Valves in use:
6V6 (OTK) (X2) – I’ll also included a pair of Svetlana 6V6’s
6SL7 (OTK)
6SN7 (RCA)
CV1863 / 5Z4GY (Brimar)
Sound from this stage is as you would expect, big, rich and warm but also delicate, able to translate the nuances of the performance better than a lot of valve stages which can end up sounding a little muddied in the lower mid’s and bass. This has very good bass heft and slam with bags of detail.
Original build was around £550 + £150 on valves.
Looking for £400.00 OVNO
I don’t believe you’ll get a hand built custom valve stage of this quality anywhere near that price, especially one that looks like this!
