For a while I've been getting the occasional dip in volume from the vinyl front tend - sometimes with a bit of distortion, often without, just sudden volume dip.
My guess is it is either a dry solder joint, potentiometer, something related with the amp rather than the phono stage which is new.
I dont think it is interconnect cable issue.
Any of you had similar experience ?

has this only started since you got the new phono stage? If so I have to say I'd suspect that.
Make sure it isn't that while you can still send it back.

No Martin, been doing this occasional for some time. As i say, it may well be that pots etc need another good clean and check over. I'm expecting to hand it out to have this done at some point, I've delayed as the music is great when not interrupted by the volume drop, and it's the whole disconnecting, and packaging up to send off that's always a pain. But yeah, looks like i'm gonna have to at some point. |

trouble with faults like that is you end up waiting for it to happen and you can't relax. Grasp the nettle mate.

Yeah, true, kind of made my mind up that I'll be getting it out for a good check, clean of pots, switches soon enough

Perhaps try another input on your pre/amp. Are the other inputs displaying same symptom or just with your vinyl output?
