I have veen toying with the idea of fitting an external filter system to my RCM, using the tap as an outlet, feeding a 20 to 50 micron filter fitted before the pump. The pump will then feed back into the tank.
Is this a bad idea, as I could continuously filter the fluid whilst cleaning the records.
I am finding that the paint filters are missing some of the finer dirt.
So the question is, a better filter, or change the fluid more frequently. What is the best option?

Filter papers fitted in a funnel works out cheap/cheerful and just as effective.

Plan B is in place. I bought a 120mm Büchner funnel and I am using some filter papers I already have. It takes ages to filter, but should be pretty clean afterwards.

It's how I recycle my RCM fluids. I bought 100 15cm filters for less than £9 delivered. Quite happy with that.
