Friday evening/night and an ideal opportunity to get some more time with the Prima - I am utterly astonished at what this thing does.
I have never ever heard vinyl replay / the recorded music dug out of the grooves, ever minute piece of recorded music info, which is then delivered as it pours out of the speakers, like a special the delivery, what was found laid bare, no stone unturned.
I read that it is truthful and boy is it ! Scalpel precise, and as forensic as I could ever have imagined, As much as I am trying not to use those old clichés, my vinyl, some I have played regularly since the 70's are rediscovered, in terms of what is 'really' going on, deep down in the black gold, it's amazing to say the least. Of course I've had those 'rediscover' moments with a piece of kit, upgrade but not like this - gosh!
The Prima does its job fantastically, providing an excellent platform for your cart to show it's prowess to the fullest and that is exactly it. The Cadenza Black, with that FGS tip digs crazy deep, coupled with the Prima, which is quiet, precise and an ace at resolving what the cart pulls out in such a way, you are " wow, so that's what occurred in that performance and recording" ! you are taken to a seat in the front row
This is the most outright clear and astonishing upgrade over all that have come before it, the piece in the jigsaw that has brought the greatest level of musical insight, an elevation and uplift of pin point focus.
Again, I read that this phono preamplifier will be enough for most, and begs the question does one need to upgrade? also that the Prima is Aurorasounds entry phono peamplifier by pricing level only, I can only whole heartedly and absolutely agree on both counts.
I've thrown everything at this thing, really put it through it's paces, reggae, soul, Marley, Black Uhuru, Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Rupert Holmes, Steely Dan, Roy Ayres, Gwen Guthrie, Sergio Mendes and numerous other artists, and the replay is seriously insightful and as I say, front seat.
I cant even begin to imagine what the Vida and flagship Supreme do !?... Either way, and regardless of price, the Vida Prima is a genuine and superb hi-fidelity tool, a sensation, and in that regard, a sweet bargain, I am thrilled to bits and can not recommend it enough.

Amazing the difference a phono stage can make.
At one of the NEBO meets someone brought along a Pioneer PL71 with a Shure cartridge (I think an M75D). There was a crowd around it setting it up and then some music got played. It was okay but nothing you'd write home about, 1970s deck with a 1970s cartridge, 1970s sound. What else was to be expected? People soon went back to their conversations including me.
Then the music stopped and a crowd again gathered around. When they departed the same LP was played again and my god what a difference, like listening to the master tape. I asked what happened and what had happened was they had swapped in a modified Croft MM stage. I rarely say this but it was literally night and day.
Never underestimate the contribution of the phono stage.
