Trouble is I think the second tweeter is half way to the knackers yard. Will have to do that so they match, there will be plenty on here with OCD kicking in saying 'you can't have them non matching'

POSTSCRIPTOnce the repaired tweeter was installed it was apparent that things still weren't right. The repaired tweeter was low on output and measuring the still working tweeter showed it had dropped from 4 ohms to 2 ohms impedance. So half way to burned out I guess. The response of course was skewed by the wrong impedance presented to the crossover. So I searched t'web for replacement 4 ohm tweeters and bought a Chinese pair, for little outlay. Once installed it was very apparent that the output of these was far too high and I have been through a few iterations of L pad values to get the level right. Firstly I attenuated the level by about 2.5db but that was still too high, then adjusted for a 4dB attenuation. This is how the Theils were heard at the bake-off. I have now increased the attenuation to around 5dB and things are good. Generally I think they were well received at the bake-off.

I found them a bit hard to listen to with that HF level mate, and i wasn't alone in that. However, if you have tamed the HF a bit more and they are more balanced, i'd be happy to have another listen to them. To be fair, they went a lot louder than i thought they would go.

That little Neurochrome sounded very powerful to me, I commented to Alan on that. I would agree the top end sounded 'lively' but maybe it was the room acoustics

That 'little' Neurochrome is capable of 110W into 4 ohms, per channel.

That 'little' Neurochrome is capable of 110W into 4 ohms, per channel. It is little in size but it certainly shifted the drivers In The Theils. I sense a separate PSU on the way?
