I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new turntable. I currently have an Inspire Force 10, Audiomods 6 arm and Hana SL cartridge plus BB3 phono stage. I'm upgrading the cartridge to an ML soon. Restrictions are: must fit on my equipment rack (515x480mm) and must look like a turntable not an engineering experiment. I have nominally budgeted £5k but could be tempted by something special.

My LP12 is for sale on here, fits all you say, and i have tested out with a BB3 and it is magical!!

Would a very very early 401 (serial # 1205, so April 63) be of interest?? 2 armboards both for Rega geometry arms. Full dims are 450x450, but actual feet placement I would say is 415x415. Arms shown fitted not included.  photo upload  |

Sounds it too, especially when I had my old Conqueror 3C/Hana ML fitted whilst the Bardo was off sick. Still very good with modded RB250/A&R P77Mg, however it's been sat on the floor in a corner unused for the last 8 months so think it's time I moved it on.
Modelled the solid plinth on the original 60s one it came with but also wanted if inset.

Looks well cool that deck does, I like it a lot.
Thorens is one of those classic brands and that deck looks quality and classic, congrats.
Please let us know how you feel it presents the music, once you've had some time with it.

Yes to both "is it springy?" and "is that an all in one package inluding the arm?". It has RCA and balanced output sockets in the back.

Very nice, and very logical from a cartridge output. Not a huge amount of phono stages that support it but the ones that do are pretty high end. Clearaudio among others spring to mind. |

Really just to give you an idea of what's on the market at the moment, although there are two or three I could be tempted by.
