I will bring my Shanling CDT-100 along. It isn't all that hot as a player, that's why I use it only as a transport, which it is good at. I will also bring my BMC UltraDAC, an XTZ power amp and a pair of Quadral Chromium Style 6 floorstanders. I may also bring my little seitch box if anyone wants some A-B type listening.

I am sure one of the guys could pick up Roobie when lans at the station? Maybe the few car-less members could meet at the station and share an Uber? I was looking at train option but on that Sunday, for me, there is rail replacement bus service for part of journey, with a few changes, looks like I could only be there for about 3 hours in total! Looking into other options

We're going to have more kit than Lasky's.
I hope there'll still be space for some people once it's all inside.

Yep.....but invariably some will drop out and ultimately some gear will have to go in a second system. Build one to "refer" to, build others to compare? Dunno, haven't done many bakeoffs lol

macca Are you bring your Focal's on the train? I was but the rail company said I would have to buy tickets for them. I'm coming down with Steve, I don't know how much space he will have (probably none). If he does then I could maybe bring my Audiovectors if there are not going to be any other larger sized speakers, but I assume someone is bringing something along those lines already? Am hoping Tony will bring the TAD Labs E2...

Then there's a listen to odd items, either made into a new system or slotted into one of those already set up. The one we did in Stoke I just left everyone to it and it all turned out fine. A great example of how anarchy can work when everyone is genial and reasonable.

My car has thrown an engine warning light. From the lumpy running it's either the coil pack, TPS or MAS but I might not be able to order them in time. I'll get the ODB reader out tonight to check the codes.

I've held around 20 BOs since 2016, and have to rooms, my main rig in one and then a 10x12 playroom. The playroom is used to call the bble together a system from whatever is brought along. I sometimes plumb interesting bits into my rig but not often now as I've climbed higher than most kit that's brought along. The kit that's been in the playroom has been incredible at some of the BOs, I remember early on we had a pair of Wilson Watt Puppies (6s) fed by a 36.5 DM & a pair of Plinius 103s, sources were a TAD SACD-DAC & an EAR CD into a DA06 DAC, sounded pretty good. Did put the TAD Sacd into my rig and its been the only CDP that's outclassed my Lector (to my ears) Have had a 3 arm Simon Yorke tt, BAT pre and EAR 509s. If there's a multitude of kit it's usually best just to leave peeps there their own devices unless ere is some a/B stuff to do.

I think the best plan is to set up the main rig in which people can set about doing a few comparisons. First part of the day I think (as wisely suggested by optical) it's best to get the vinyl spinning, as quite understandably there will be a few pints served and consumed, and I'd hate for anything delicate to suffer an incident due to fatigue or drinkers wobble 🤣 There will be a section in the room for the measurement lovers to congregate, due to misterc bringing some measurement gear. That should provide some interest. I presume there will be enough gear for a couple of experimentation and second system building. It'll be a fun day, and as long as we're all enjoying ourselves......it's a success.
