The questions below will likely highlight the fact that I am a newbie. I do however love these older vintage set ups. I really just started playing in the hobby and feel like I have a ton to learn.
Today I am running a Luxman R1070 with Bose 901's and a set of original D-9 Cerwin Vega's. My wife and I enjoy listening to vinyl and so we also use a Luxman turntable. We bought the kids a Lindeman Limetree streamer.
I love the looks and sound of this set up however I recently cratered the amp. Locally we have a great repair shop so they will get it fixed up for me but the comment came back from them that I may need an amp with more oomph. This leaves me with a couple of questions:
I do appreciate that I have asked some questions that may take a while to respond so I would like to say thanks in advance for any help you guys could offer

I love the looks and sound of this set up however I recently cratered the amp. Locally we have a great repair shop so they will get it fixed up for me but the comment came back from them that I may need an amp with more oomph. This leaves me with a couple of questions:
- Does running 4 - 8 ohm speakers create a really heavy load on my amplifier? Do the Boes 901 (with EQ) make it worse?
- The Luxman R 1070 does have 4 sets of speaker posts. The specs I have read say 70 watts per channel not sure if this is RMS or not? Also does it divide the load, IE: am I actually getting 35 watts per channel because of the extra set of speakers?
- I do really love the sound of this set up although to be honest I have had a few friends try and convince to buy something a little more polished. Although I understand and agree that I could be getting more technically correct gear for the same money. I have yet to test a system that makes my wife and I want to dance more than our setup. (most of the comments are at my speaker selection not the amp or turntable). If It were your speakers and turntable and you were not going to change them out. What amp/wattage would you chose when you consider that part of our appeal is aesthetics. The why is really important to me as well.
I do appreciate that I have asked some questions that may take a while to respond so I would like to say thanks in advance for any help you guys could offer
