Just plugged in a pair of Klipsch Heresy III
A bit like my Grado headphones. Flawed but soooooo much fun...

I guess they are a little different to the Cubes?
Do they really need such extreme toe-in? I'm not much for that myself, always have the speakers firing pretty much straight on.
What are the strengths and weaknesses then?

What are the strengths and weaknesses then? Toed-in seems best, in this 16 x 14 room, so far. The Cubes were toed in a little more than that. First impressions...the Heresys have a really nice ease and presence to vocals, awesome 'thwack' for drums, tuneful bass notes, good timing, decent dispersion for horns. A lot of fun listening to James Hand, Dale Watson, John Prine. They don't have the see-through purity of the Cubes, though. A presence lift in the upper mid / lower treble (?) means they seem better suited to my (warmish) vinyl set up...a tiny bit dry on some digital files. Both speakers are generous, fully fleshed communicators.

So you've tried them with both types of music. Country and Western. But what are they like cranked up with some Lizzy or Hendrix?

Well okay but I'm just saying that you can't really test a speaker with simple mixes and pristine recordings. If it can make sense of a rough and ready rock recording at volume then it will reproduce all the audiophile W#nk with ease.
Not that I'm saying James Hand etc are audiophile W#nk cause they're not, but they are relatively simple mixes and very well recorded.

One thing I always wondered about with Heresies: Does the sound manage to have normal image height to it?

No Shane, as the Grado's have bass extension. The Sennheiser HD414 is more a headphone equivalent in sound...

Shane, the Durham Draper has probably been too busy Darning the holes in Dickys Panties to listen to any Village People lately.
