Obviously Sgt Peps but bloody hell it's just so familiar. Can I be the first to say that revolver is a bit crappier than everyone else in the world except me thinks it is. |

All the Beatles albums are a bit crappier than everyone else in the world thinks they are. I think they invented the concept of 'filler' You could get all the worthwhile stuff onto one double album. |

I think if you were to buy the two red and blue double LP best ofs then you wouldn't miss out on much unless you're a fan. Unfortunately I'm a fan and I like the early stuff so that's me scuppered. There was a shitload of filler tripe on the white album though . You'd be a bit of a tit to deny that.
Their impact and influence though cannot be disputed. Just how big they were can't really be fully appreciated without getting back to the time. There's some ace documentaries about that can give you a feeling for the phenomenon in the sixties.

Their impact and influence though cannot be disputed. Agreed. Just that growing up in Liverpool in the 1970s you got saturated with the Beatles. Over-saturated in fact. And there wasn't as much mystique. I walked past John Lennon's house a hundred times back when it was just somebody's house. And I walked past Strawberry Field every day on my way home from school since it was in the same street. It wasn't until about '86 that every day you'd have to fight your way through a crowd of Japanese tourists taking pictures of the gates. |

The most important think about Let it be is that it wasn't produced by Martin.
It was the only one produced by that little mad bastard Phil Spector. And the wall of sound
Was never gonna work with the fab four.
