They do look pretty funky but if I wanted a low powered amp that couldn't drive a fly out of a window I'd just buy a twenty quid Sanyo off of eBay. ðĪĢ

Hello, I bought this Minava SE-300B, distributed by Douk Audio. It is an integrated which can also be used as an amp alone. a.aliexpress.com/_EuBeRWn It is completely silent, in preamp or amp. I just changed the 5AR4 sovtek rectifier tube for a good 1962 NOS Mullard. The sound is excellent, yet entry-level Psvane 300B. The 6SN7 drive the preamp, surprisingly good, few differences with or without. The whole is coherent as well, ample and beautiful mids, very correct bass, slightly soft treble. At this price it's crazy, and the construction is simple, the components are high end. (the real price is 1000e, not 700e, you have to add the postage. There was stock in Germany, I was lucky enough to pay 790e for it with VAT included) And I repeat, with the right Mullard straightener the silence is total! I listen mainly on headphones, with an impedance adapter (if not crazy frequencies) which has 3 settings depending on the headphone impedance, <100 ohms <300 ohms <600 ohms. I will change the 300B in the future. Nevertheless it is a serious basis! Best regards Olivier (From France, sorry if my english is not good, i translate by gg)

Thank you for your welcome ð lurch My English is that of Google, so I am at the mercy of false translation .. rexton Yes it is important to have affordable equipment returns, in China very often. but be careful all the same many are very badly regulated... antonio Yes the volume button is on the plate, in front, between the two 6sn7. Your 300B is a Yaqin, a major Chinese brand. I know that changing the 300B is tricky, all the affordable ones are quite far from the rendering of the original tubes .. unfortunately very expensive! According to my research the only almost equivalent is the Linlai we300b, they are worth around 750e the pair. Linlai produces several versions of the 300B, recently the 300B-T came out (300e pair), I'm looking for trials to get an idea. There is also a Japanese tube, unfortunately expensive and not appreciated by all testers. The original brand Western Electric has just released a new copy identical to that of the 300b, which is exceptional, almost better. Alas, still very expensive... Your KT88 apps are undoubtedly dynamic, in this genre I also like large Mosfet amps, a "tube" transistor sound ð Thanks again for your Welcome ð

olivierfrance I purchased two new Electro Harmonix 300B's for ÂĢ150. You could have a look on AliExpress for 300B's as well. I can see the volume control on the top plate.

Yes Antonio, I know the EL who are good, same as Psvane. Same price also. The volume is in bad plastic ðĪŠ.. the only thing in plastic here ... I'm looking for a high end but still affordable. I have high hopes on the new 300B version T from Linlai, yes also seen on Aliexpress. Sometimes you have to be careful about models made for Chinese and Asian customers. Because they prefer very powerful treble. For example Linlai has two versions of the same lamp, the excellent E-6sn7, the E meaning excellence, a version for Asia and one for the West! The tone is different. This preamp tube has a very strong reputation, the tests are glowing. I do not know if the 300B are thus regulated according to different criteria, but at least with them I will only buy on their official site. linlaiglobal.com/index.php/shop-online/ By the way there are copies of many of the tubes in China, of course the valuable ones. From E-6sn7 to 75e instead of 140e (piece), it's impossible and obviously customers end up with very ordinary sounding tubes ... for good/bad reason, they have copies.

This Z version is also interesting. The T and the Z are the two medium-high range at Shuaguang.
Shuaguang is ... the same as ... Psvane ... is their name for the West ð
And Linlai are Psvane engineers who only make the best ranges, plus some innovations ðŊ So the same references, the same designations ... except Linlai for better control according to the tests. So we find the 300B-Z among the three!
There is a technical difference between the Z and the T, which gives a particular sound to each. There are tests but too little, there is personal feedback but also too little. It's hard to make a judgement. On the other hand there are rigorous tests on the "replica WE-300B". Some offers are around 600e a pair. There is also the top of the range E-300B, no longer a copy of Western Electric, but a search for superiority with current techniques and methods. Ditto excellent, and very expensive! 900th ....
Absolutely I understand that it is difficult to buy a lamp at the price of the whole equipment! Nevertheless the Replica may be a solution ? more affordable than the Western. I hesitate to buy the intermediate models which are around 300 ⎠because I fear a lesser difference with mine.
But I continue my many readings and my tests on his lamps and if one day I come across a substantial and very complete work of course I will let you know ð

olivierfrance Shuguang and Psvane are not the same companies, although Psvane were started up by Shuguang employees. Linlai are an off shoot of Psvane or at least this is what I've read. From reviews I've seen, Shuguang have a warmer sound than either Psvane or Linlai but don't hold me to that. Good luck in finding a suitable 300B replacement and let us know your thoughts, I'd be very interested.

Sorry yes .... I had not had the end of the history. First the same, then separated (following an end to profit-sharing on high-end sales, engineers). Psvane then created its independent brand. Linlai is also an emanation but on good terms with Psvane from what I understood ð *
* (All this is conditional, difficult to cross information. These come from the official Psvane site).
Yes of course I will tell my adventures with the 300B, if I find the product almost perfect ðŊ In the meantime this little amp is well made, sounds good, I finished the break-in.
