Remember the lovely 'Michi' range?
My father had the large power-amp, with the matching passive pre. Must admit he never did tried the active version though.
Oh God man! That power-amp looked absolutely divine in the flesh. Was very heavy weighing in at 30kg! The transformers inside that beast was massive. Well, not overly massive but VERY SOLID!!

Both of these were up for sale on EBay the other day. Good prices too. I remember Alvin Gold going nuts over the power amp in particular.

I recall Eric Braithwaite reviewing them in HFW (still have that issue somewhere). He preferred the pre-amp, thought the power amp was a bit tame. That's subjective reviewing for you though I suppose. Regardless they were on my 'wanted' list for a long time. I sort of have their equivalent now anyway.

NVA P90SA into Krell KSA50S
Basically the same idea as the Rotel combo.

When it comes to looks, the Michi is the Iron Fist in Velvet Glove. But never sounded nasty. You could crank up the volume high and nothing breaks!

Never sold or demo'd them and my 'experiences' are second hand, but ATC liked them as they had loads of wallop with grace in delivery and were perfect for passive ATC speakers which mop power as if it's going out of fashion. I remember they looked good too

I had the smaller Michi power amp and it was underwhelming. It did perk up when I put a Super Kinabalu support underneath it, but that was only on loan.
