My early experiences included a customer who ran two pairs of SD1s linked via a Minim Ambisonics decoder. He swore by it as a more realistic means of enjoying music. He was a big classical fan and he reckoned a full orchestra was so much more real with the extra spatial dimension.
I believe the process sends inverse phase to the rear speakers. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this or anything similar and did they find it worthwhile? It might take forever to see an ambisonic decoder appear, but I will grab one if it crosses my path. My omni experience is leading me to seek out even more spatial kicks.
