Hi - having moved house I have managed to throw away the power cables for my pair of Mordaunt Short Festival 2 speakers. Speaking to Cambridge Audio they don't support vintage speakers (circa 1980!). Does anyone know where i can buy a couple of power leads for them (either original or new replacement ones will do).

When you say power cables I assume you mean the speaker cables from the amplifier to speaker?
If so they are not specific to your speakers, and many cables from many sources are available.
It may help if you list the rest of your hi fi equipment, and an idea of your budget.

That looks like a DIN socket, best using bare wires on the bottom terminals me thinks.

Yes they have both DIN sockets and spring clips, pretty unusual.
Speaker cable is available cheap on Amazon or EBay, if you want to go to an actual shop Richer Sounds sell it too. You want at a thickness of at least 14AWG (note: the lower the AWG number, the thicker the cable).

Hmm, I may be being extremely stupid here! Having connected the amp to speakers via red/black screw on connectors and got no sound I assumed that there was some other power source for the speakers than that derived from the amp from other connector (this sounds so lame which is a small slot socket with larger square socket below .. a bit like this _ []

Fixed! Seems amp is intermittent so after 10 minutes it burst into glorious 1980s life! I think cables need replacing as connections are not great. Thanks for the advice everyone,
