I would be tempted to try the TDA7293 amp. However the earth terminal on the mains input needs to be wired to the chassis for an earth connection. I would also bypass the tiny volume control.
Not mad keen on the old Naim circuit.

Thanks for that Alan. I would not know how to bypass the volume control, but would prefer to use with a passive pre. I have also been looking at this little beauty: Vhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOPPING-PA3-Desktop-HiFi-Class-D-TDA7498E-80W-2-Analog-Audio-Digital-Amplifier/283955808853?hash=item421d15ca55:g:llwAAOSwbJtfF~6P
I have been watching this on You Tube (I will apologise now for the presenter) but it seems impressive for such a small amp. I am at the moment using a TPA3116 cheap amp, unfortunately there is a fault with the connection on the dc input and I have to wriggle it around until it fully powers.

I have plumped for the Topping costs a little more to get it to Cambodia but I still think some Chinese made audio gear are complete bargains compared to what would be considered more traditional hifi. For those of you interested before purchasing he Topping, this came close to me pressing the button. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274404877281
