When I was 18 I went with my girlfriend to London on my first real 'dirty weekend'. We went to see the Clash at the Music Machine in Camden Town. July 1978. Specials and Suicide were supports and Jimmy Pursey and Steve Jones joined in aswell. We rented this room at Kings cross ( 8£ a night, it being a right fucking fleapit in prossy central ) but the bathroom was across the hall . Without realising the danger we got a bit saucy in the afternoon and decided to strip off and dash across the hall with just a towel and have a naughty shower . 🙂 About half an hour later we looked into the corridor then dashed back across to our room , only to find that the door had 'RELOCKED'! I had to go down into a crowded lobby in central London on Saturday afternoon with my knackers hanging out and beg for a spare room key ! I hope that helps. 🙂

Just to advise folks that Mutec prices will increasing due to the supply issues with various components within the Mute cproduct ranges themselves this is not a decisison which Mutec have taken lightly.
As of September 21st 2021 they will be a price increase on all Mutec products, those of you looking at purchasing any of these superb products please do bear this information in mind.
"As you all know, the availability of electronic components has been deteriorating dramatically in recent months. This lead to a significant impact on their prices, which have risen considerably. For example, the frequency synthesizer chip used in the MC3+USB currently costs more than three times as much! These circumstances force us, for the first time in the history of MUTEC GmbH, to make appropriate price adjustments regarding the MSRP for our products which all are particularly affected by this development. We regret this step very much. However, we cannot permanently compensate for these drastic price increases for electronic components on our own, what we have done during the first half of the year. We therefore kindly ask for your understanding for this measure, which unfortunately has no alternative."

Well done in letting folks know of the price increase, could have been tempted myself if only money didn't come into the equation

Just thought I would drop this reply from a long term user of a Mutec MCB3+Usb (before we were involved) on his experinaces with the product and his new Denifrips recent udates to his system
"The Intel NUC is a 10th Gen i5 running an obsolete (MC17) version of JRiver, which (unlike later versions) does not impose any re-sampling, bit-rate conversions on the source music files. The NUC is powered from a big Paul Hynes SR7 linear PSU. It is connected to the MC-3+ USB using an inexpensive Kimber USB cable, and the Mutec is powered by an old Paul Hynes SR3, set (iirc) to 6v - it is also hooked up to a Vertex Pico acoustic/RFI grounding box copy. You won't be at all surprised to hear that plastering the Mutec's unused inputs, outputs and clock connections with acoustic/RFI grounding measures does improve the sound, and the measures are always additive!
The Mutec then feeds a Denafrips Gaia via co-axial digital cable, and the Gaia is then connected via I2S over HDMI to a Denafrips Venus II DAC. It sounds rather wonderful, and attempts to simplify the installation have not been satisfactory - I originally planned to drop the Mutec but it's a far, far better USB interface than either of the Denafrips products on their own.
The Denafrips gear seemed to take ages to 'run in'. I did think that 300 hours was optimum, but I'm inclined to agree with a reviewer in HiFi Critic who said that 800 hours is more like it."
Also I would like to reiterate that we also have a couple of loan units available for trial as has always been the case (UK only though) after grief with the Irish customs!
