Below are the places from where I have obtained valves. This is a list of trusted sellers with whom I have dealt with directly. www.hotroxuk.com2x Gold Lion 12AX7 1x Tung-Sol 12AX7 Very good choice of valves but largely modern production. Delivery was swift and they were very well packaged. www.watfordvalves.com2x Tesla PCC88 (Microphonic, not Watford's fault) 2x GE12AX7WA (one unbalanced and audibly down in gain on one channel, returned no issue) To be continued

Langrex and Watford Valves, when valves mattered...
They between them sorted me out a great set of mil spec valves for the Croft preamp, all nine of them.
No idea if they still exist as they were, but 'Groove Tubes' seemed a bit more sturdy and neutral sounding' than the usual equivalents and EL34's could be got in grades I seem to remember.

Mainly Hotrox and Watford retailers for me. And direct from TAD in Germany as not all types are imported by UK retailers.
I have bought a fair number used on ebay - that quad of KT120 was about £45,worth it just to try them but they seem good for the long term as well. I can't recall any particular ebay horror stories I've suffered.
