Having unfortunately been subjected to these monstrosities on a number occasions I can safely say PANTS is a very appropriate word

Just a Sh#t tonne of drivers stacked together with no thought of combing effects and driver cancellation, they'd be a Sh#t show of blurred imagery from the mids up.

My brother had a pair of these alleged speakers in a glossy maroon colour with ribbon tweeters, they had all the charm and desirability of a early 1980's school disco DJ'd by Jimmy Saville

I have just seen the image of the big Lumleys in the first post Oli, I did possibly hear this pair at JJ's (SOM) in Tunbridge when I was 15 my brother visited Metropolis music in the early naughties. They can not have been more than pair made surely?
The were downstairs in the basement (should have been buried there) powered by those big ass Lumley valve amps equally as cringe-worthy and an early DCS stack. It redefined what was possible in hifi mythical bullshite. In that they produced some of the truly worst sounds I have ever listened to even made a full naim system sounded like velvet on your ears. Unfortunately I was subjected to YES and tales from topographic oceans it gave the biggest warmest, wobbliest disjointed congealed mush of tripe for music. While JJ tapped his toes and proclaimed 'Best ever'
A cautionary tale for those contemplating Lumley designed transducers from hell a dose of anthrax is preferable to these towers of inaudible music destroying artefacts of sonic destruction.
