The human brain can only "compute" around 20db of "stereo" I The separation of vinyl being around 20db, which is pitiful vs digital at 110db for CD. I am wondering if that is the reason digital seems to feel less cognitive. Id love to experiment with that |

How much stereo effect do you get in a concert hall ?
That's why serious music lovers stay away from headphones unless they're unavoidable.

The worst most unrealistic thing that exists in audio is exagerated stereo separation. How many people like Sgt Peppers in stereo over the original ? How much stereo effect do you get in a concert hall ? That's why serious music lovers stay away from headphones unless they're unavoidable. So...Vinyl roolz . Still. 😏 I dont disagree, not at all but id love to experiment with digital and match the separation to that of my MC cart which is around 26db iirc. That would be a fantastic experiment |

So NK has signalled the death knell for vinyl? most unlike him he is usually very pro black pizzas, seems odd although his is quirky not a bad fellow surprising? Still here on AA it can still have a comfortable place to reside free from the fear of those pesky digital interlopers  |

I thought the gist of it was that technically speaking vinyl is diabolical but in practical terms it doesn't matter very much at all. Assuming you set up your cartridge properly. Which is pretty much true. |
