You will be lusting after a massive Japanese amp to go with them next.

They do look nice Oli, just the cost of shipping maybe a negative.

This post is wasted on me, as I don’t speak Japanese. To be honest I did not look past the title.

Just to put my intrigue to rest I've had my eye out for some for about 20 years. I'd guess that in the UK there are absolutely none. They'd probably be a bit disappointing anyway. But they do look the business.

I am more than pleased with my Japanese receiver, the phono stage and amplification has been a revelation. I am using a humble AT95ex cartridge and I am hearing detail and information that was missing even with my 2M Black! Yes it is midrange weighted and warm sounding but it is bloody great to listen too. It has a way in delivering a performance from vinyl that exceeds expectation and is really enjoyable at the same time. There are probably far better Jap amps and receivers out there from the golden era ( 1970s) that probably sound even better but the Pioneer I have is very sweet indeed and is a joy to listen too.

The Japanese have made some stunning amplifiers and turntables but many of their speakers seem to be modelled on studio monitors and are very definitely voiced differently to what we'd consider neutral. Those look very nicely made Oli and have a few nods to design considerations lost now such as offset drivers to lower edge diffraction, rounded baffle edges (for much the same reason) and use what look like some quality drive units.
The Japanese have mostly gone in for Western loudspeakers, especially anything LS3/5a, Tannoy, Klipsh or JBLs, the bigger, the better! When you see the size of their average listening rooms it can make for some entertaining outcomes...Tannoy Westminsters in an 11 x 12 ft room anyone?
When they do speakers well, they do them very well.

When they do speakers well, they do them very well. No doubt that they would sound a little different to our expectations. The Pioneer CS-77A did, but i loved them for it. I would be seriously tempted on a little Japanese adventure into the Diatone range. Something tells me that they are a great listen, even if they were a little different. I'd like to see what you could do to a pair actually....now there in-lies a really interesting thread!

Firking 'ell, that's a pair of speakers. I could just about squeeze them in my listening room with my ATC's, Quad 57's JR149's and Tannoy 15MG's!!

I like the look of them but the cone material has to be painted to protect from uv. The internal construction is mega though. Thers also these from Sony Sony ss- GR1 Bio-celulose super and tweeter, proppa fancy.
