Firstly let me say Bigman80 asked if I would post this since he is happy to read about any system. Well my brother has traded in his Accustic Arts Monos for a Audionet Humboldt stereo intergrated en.audionet.de/machines/humboldt/Speaker cables also had to be replaced and we picked up a nice set of used Jorma Origo speaker cables. positive-feedback.com/Issue48/jorma_origo.htmWell listening to the system, dCS Rossini/Clock and Estelon XB speakers, the sound is simply breath taking. My brother owned an Audionet V1 power previously so we knew how good Audionet were, but this new amp is in another league. We have heard plenty of hi-end systems at shows, many costing much more, but nowhere nearly as enjoyable to listen to. This is a system which one can sit and enjoy all day long with no listener fatigue. The amp has been placed on the floor between the speakers, but we have decided to alter the layout and put it on the bottom shelf of the rack which has meant a longer power lead. Now I've never been able to hear any differences with power cables until yesterday when a 2 1/2m Crystal Cables Reference Diamond turned up from the same used cables dealer in Holland. This replaced a Russ Andrew cable, the bass became clearer with more snap, intricate details in the back ground came more to the fore. I've said this before, any members who fancy a day out to Cleethorpes, we live in Grimsby, would be most welcome to come and hear it and of course they could hear my NVA set-up as well.

Congrats on your brother's great sounding system ---- but oh my gosh. I hope the speakers sound better than they look! OK, my MBLs are fugly, but these give a new meaning to the word! I'd definitely need a curtain in front. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. Those curves might just work for me if the drivers were covered up - do they come with grilles?

Ours are in white, and they seem to blend in with the lighter coloured walls. We love the looks Jerry, and not only that they appear smaller than what they are due to the shape, especially compared to his previous JM Labs Mezzo Utopia's. I can remember someone on AoS having the next model up on trial, same shape only a little bigger, and although they sounded good his wife wouldn't have them in the house.

They look awful in pink but then so do most things. In white I think they are pretty good-looking speakers.

Yes, those speakers are definitely marmite, white in a light room would be the best for me. But even then.
I've been looking at the Absolute Sound review - they thought the tweeter was rather too feisty. Do you find that? ... I've had a speaker with Accuton ceramic drivers, and they were great, including the tweeter.
Also looking at the amp.... 61kg. Bloody hell. I'm too old for that, if it's not a reasonable one person lift, I carry on looking! I'm sure it sounds good, though.

The reviewers hearing's buggered or maybe he was using a Chord amp. No way are they feisty, they even do a diamond tweeter in this model now. Funny you mentioning 61kg, we've just this morning moved the amp this onto the bottom shelf of the rack, definitely a 2 man lift. Nearly forgot, the grilles are attached to the speaker, and should not be removed.

How is he hearing the tweeter's individual contribution separate from the rest of the drivers? He doesn't seem to understand that the tweeter only makes a small contribution to the sound of any speaker. Anyone with any experience knows that a 'hard' sound is rarely if ever due to the loudspeaker. He was probably clipping the amplifier. And he reckons that fitting the spikes ameliorates the problem! Why didn't he set them up with the spikes fitted from the start? And how would that change the character of the tweeter anyway? There's so much utter bollox written in reviews these days and the yanks are the worst for it.

"the yanks are the worst for it" You haven't read too much by Roy Gregory or Alan Sircom then. Agree with what you say about clipping the amp though, and how would putting a speaker on spikes cure the problem. Anyway, no such probs here, they're on Townshend bars.
