I’ve dropped Roon in favour of Logitech Media Server using the Material Skin on my MoOde Audio Pi, gives me direct access to Qobuz, Spotify, Bandcamp, Radio Paradise, TuneinRadio, plus my own music server 😊 Can control both of my Pi setups, one on my main HiFi system and another one in my PC room, can be synced to work in unison or separately. PC room Pi is running PiCoreplayer as an alternative to MoOde and both work flawlessly 😉 Roon - £90 per year LMS - Free Material Skin - Free ( Donations accepted ) Several photos to show what the Material Skin is capable of, designed and maintained by a Logitech Software employee 👍 Works in Portrait and Landscape mode which is another plus over Roon, the Material Skin can even work similar to Roon Radio and continue to play music similar to what you’ve just been listening to once the album/playlist is finished 😉😊

I’ve always liked LMS. Although I don’t run it these days as I’m not currently using my SB’s. I’ve heard it won’t work very well with the latest Apple Mac operating system which I’m using on my iMac.

Doesn't look bad, and free of charge. We've got a lifetime sub to Roon and have to say very happy with it.

Blood hell....that looks good! Not bad eh, I have Roon up until December but I’d rather have access to Bandcamp and Spotify than continue using Roon. LMS is now on version 8.0.0 with regular updates.

It really does look good ... and I was contemplating switching from Audirvana to Roon. I am running a Mac mini, with various raspberry pi’s loaded with MOode to play Qobuz. How do I set up LMS with Material Skin? Cheers

I dug out my old Squeezebox Classic a few weeks back when I finally tidied up my office system. I run LMS on an old laptop and use Qobuz plus my local music. I had intended getting another Bluesound node same as in the main system as the Classic won’t play hires streams but so far I haven’t felt the need........

If you want to use Qobuz or the like the yeah you need a sub, for the likes of Bandcamp you only need an account there and can play stuff from your wish list for free, only 128kps but fine for free stuff.

We have an inside track on a lot of audio playback software development, Roon is one of the best for library organisation SQ is not top of there wish list, a robust easy to use, nice GUI, repeatable and chimp proof. Other players offer better playback, but at the expense of the GUI. Roon are ex Meridian employees along with that bollox MQA LOL. If you are looking for batter playback then bubble UPnP offer better SQ. But it is no where as slick as Roon Personally I use the Lumin app for day to day listening, for critical I wrote my own Linux based memory player, its a bit clunky but its solid and sounds wonderful but I need to expand the play list from 10 songs

Try here, I'm at work just now and can't remember where I downloaded 8.0.0 from but it had updated only yesterday so this page might be the correct version downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.0
