I've just joined to post in a particular thread, but you're such a friendly bunch, I thought I'd best do an intro. About three years ago I decided to pull out all my old hi-fi gear and play some of the vinyl I've had stored for years. To give you some idea of what an old bugger I am, all of my original equipment was bought new in 1973, and consists of a Pioneer PL12 turntable, complete with the ubiquitous Shure m75ed, a Pioneer SA-7300 amp, and a pair of Solarvox speakers. One thing led to another and several changes later I'm using a Thorens 150, SME 3009 tonearm, with a Shure v15 mk3. This is feeding a Puresound A10 amplifier through an Art Dj preamp and terminating in a pair of Mordaunt Short MS914 speakers.
I'm afraid I'm a total vinyl snob, and love all things analogue. You'll also notice I'm pretty keen on vintage gear, and I'm very quickly becoming a bit of a valve (tubes in USspeak) aficionado.

I loved mine but it made way to progress.... Welcome aboard!

I'll have a butchers. Thre problem is that everyone and their dogs are releasing crap live and off cut Fall bootleg. I've got all the original LP but I have to be selective of the new stuff cos there's a lot of fancy packaged rehash jobs our now. Awful live performance walloped onto vinyl from a cd or crappy recording.
