As I am about to start to first build soon, I thought I would start a thread on what are essential tools for populating PCBs, and building audio devices . Feel free to add to the list.
Decent soldering iron. Solder sucker Helping hands with magnifying glass. A decent desk lamp. Small electric fan to blow the fumes away from my face. A multimeter.

Nail clippers, paper straws, good solder and soldering iron and a multimeter. For owt else you need knowledge.
I dont use braid or a solder sucker, ever.

FFP2 face mask (if you can find one these days)
Solder fume extractor. I made my own but if not that diy minded you can buy them. Soldering fumes are highly toxic and do your lungs no good. If you saw the crap that an extractor picks up in the filter from the flux core being heated, you wouldn't solder without a mask or an extractor again!
Nitrile gloves;
Eye protection;
Calculator and note pad;
Ranging multimeter;
LCR meter calibrated and adjustable for measuring at 1KHz, 10KHz, 200KHz;
camera;
cutting or soldering mat;
small wire snips and long nosed pliers
solder tweezers and clamps;
small table vice;
PCB holder (rotates 360 degrees);
Decent lamp (LED daylight overhead strip lamps are excellent);
Dremmel or similar tool;
Small hot air gun or gas torch;
cordless drill, fine drills, standard drill set and reamers;
Parts bins or drawers;
Radio!
That's just for starters. If anyone would like a list of woodworking essentials, shout out and I'l list those.

Superb. Thanks. I have a lot of that already, but point noted on the mask/fume extractor. I am thinking of a run of flexible air duct being fed by a 140mm fan and blowing the fumes out of the window. Primitive, but should work ok.
