I never gelled with the 103R when I tried it. I've had the 103, 103R and the 103M and haven't really been that fussed with them. Am I missing something here?

I’ve always thought it to be a lovely sounding cartridge. To me it bettered the Audio Technica AT33EV I previously owned. tell me a cartridge you think it would better for the price range I may have to try. ive not had to many cartridges TBH. Denon 103C1. Shure M75ED MKII with a Jico Sas. A 103 with a paratrace stylus. And a few other budgets. |

But then thinking about it if I am happy with the sound at the moment I think I will leave it in place. That’s what it’s all about, being happy. 😁

I've not heard many budget carts TBH. I've had the Linn K9, Shure M55E, Shure M75, Shure SC35C, Shure V15mk III (spot a pattern here). Denon 103, 103r, and 103M. I do have some spare MM's kicking around that I got with a deck I once bought. Perhaps I could try those. Anyway, the V15 mk III and the M55E + JICO neoSAS where the best budget MM's I've heard. I once had the Audio Technica atoc/II, I hated that. I've only really had Ortofon's, Koestsu's and SPU's and whilst these sounded amazing I've been converted to Japanese esoterica. |
