As a nation of pet lovers I thought it only fur(geddit) to share some photos of those who enrich our lives. Our current menagerie has sadly shrunk from 9 animals/birds to the current 4:- The sh*ts (Shih-Tzus) Coco (pigpen) loves to eat sheep poo, so constantly has an attending swarm of flies when out and about, hence the "Charlie Brown" nickname. Non too happy about being photographed whilst still in bed. My fur baby daughter. I know your not supposed to have favourites but ............ Gizmo (Clever Trevor) smart and incredibly sensitive, badly in need of the groomer, but far too risky to take him at the mo. May well get a bad home trim later today. The Widget (Widge) so called as he is into absolutely everything, please no comments about the lino, I know it's bloody awful, bit like Jerrys carpet sorry Jerry no offence.

Finally, my avatar, Bob the parrot, undoubted ruler of the roost would you argue with that orange cigar cutter? He's flightless, so is able to go almost everywhere we do. Recently took us an hour to extricate ourselves from a busload of Japanese tourists in the Lakes, whose only English word was PHOTO. Apologies for the poor pics, I'm not used to taking tiny ones for t'internet. Will try and sort some better ones later. Care to share some of yours?

Wouldn't say that if you are in hearing range and he kicks off with a 120db alarm call , but he is a one off, he's approx 38 years old and previously belonged (by the sound of it) to an old scottish drunk. We've only had him 20 yrs or so but he is incredibly intelligent and gentle. Some of the language can be a bit fruity at times. He's quite fond of calling me a tosser and telling me to f*ck off when I leave the room.

No plans to add some pets to the family once the kids up a bit? If it was up to me and my daughter, we would already have pets. The wife is allergic to most animals, so we don’t have that option.

Ahh that is a shame, I'm sensitive to one of our Shih-Tzus, have to use anti-allergens every day. Only found out after we got him obviously, but what can you do? Some of those magnadoodle, labradoodle (whatever) type designer dogs are hypo-allergenic, but I suppose you would have to get one to see if the wife is sensitive to it, which is not really fair on the dog.

They're lovely, Fatdog and Rocket, bet that sounds great down the park when you're calling them , saw some pics on the other channel when you got the pup. Nice to see they get on well together now. I love staffies, fiercely loyal, protective and loving, great with kids, lost my last one after 16 yrs, best friend I've ever had. Unfortunately her choice this time, hence the sh*ts-tzus or I would have had another without hesitation. Shame the wrong sort of people(thugs, not you) get them and they get a bad rep.

I wouldnt have any other breed. We didnt plan on getting Rocco, but once we heard he'd been abandoned, I couldn't not go and get him. We have a friend at the local shelter. She said there was Rocketdog and his sister. We couldn't take both and when we got there the sister was already taken so we viewed it as fate. He's an utter twat though lol. Steals your food of plate etc. He will grow out of it but man, does my nut. Staffies are 1 of only 2 breeds to be recommended by the KC for living with children. As you say, entirely loyal, loving and gentle but yes, knob heads have given them the poor rep. Couldn't be further from the truth about them

Got two greyhounds who are one of the laziest dogs on the planet. Only take them out once a day and let them run around in a paddock for 20 - 30 minutes then it's back to the sofa to conk out for the rest of the day. Both are ex-racers and the bitch never was any good at racing as she zig zags too much and the boy was got rid of once he started losing from first place.

Ours calls you under his breath so you can't be certain if he's called you or not. At 1min 57 in the video he definitely says "where you goin tosspot", see what you think? And yes the room needs a lick of paint, I just can't be arsed at the mo'

Two terriers here Dave and Ralph, love people hate anything else that moves. It's a good job we live miles from anyone in the middle of nowhere, mind you that only spares domestic cats and dogs, the rest of the wildlife round here aren't so pleased....

Love it, more pets with blokes' names . No rats or mice about can only be a good thing. S'pose sqirrels are fair game too, they are only rats with a better PR department.

Got every respect for you and Oli for rescuing dogs. Without people like you they would have a very bleak future. Great dogs greyhounds, loads of fun, but as you say they need a good run every day. Dogs are for life, not to get shot of when they stop winning or they don't match your new couch( genuine reason given by a lady owner who wanted rid), their lives are over far too briefly as it is.

Absolute tw*t but could forgive him anything. Didn't know about the KC thing, which is the other breed? I'm thinking Great Dane.

This isn't Bob, just to show you how different the females are, hence the name Eclectus (eclectic) parrots. We got a girlfriend called Saffron for Bob, she was absolutely unhandleable and Bob hated her. She earned the moniker "flick knife" for trying to rip every piece of flesh she saw, unfortunately we had to let her go to a breeder, as poor Bob was traumatised, I'm sure he had the parrot version of PTSD for a good while afterwards. He would rather have his fluffy cushion, for those of a sensitive nature I have to warn you the following video contains HARDCORE PORN.Right, you're guaranteed to watch it now this IS Bob getting jiggy with it just after we got him and changed his name. Handsome dog, reckon if she bites you you had it coming Bet she's as soft as rags really, another breed with a bad rep, down to being owned by oxygen-thieves and certain horror films.

lol yep in this case karma can really bite you on the arse ha ha. she a rescue like my last doberman and is actually very timid and doesn't like loud noises and anything that remotely resembles a stick, she must have been hit with one a lot i reckon. despite her past she is very loving and i wouldnt be without her.

Massive respect for rescuing her, they are so grateful after suffering physical/mental abuse that they give you your love back in spades.

Unlike this bloody cat. We rescued her after she got abandoned and she’ll still rip your hand off when your not paying attention

I once found a wee kitten, a tabby like yours, in a builders skip and took it home, thought nothing of the fact that it was almost maniacal when playing with toys. Once fully grown it used to run, full pelt, and launch itself, all 4 limbs akimbo, talons out at any guests that we had. We had to tell people to hang on 'til we put the cat out before we could let them in . Absolute headcase, RIP Squeaky
