Ok, everyone who is in isolation (and those that aren't) lets post up those well meaning Covid Isolation Resolutions here. What are you going to do to make your time more bearable? Going stir crazy? Ask for some suggestions (non HiFi) here, you may get some good ideas to pinch As I am asthmatic I am working at home, in fact I have been ordered to by work for the foreseeable which is good, I know I am very lucky in that respect. However, to help me not end up killing the missus through frustration I intend to - Go for bike rides 3-4 time a week, weather permitting to get out - no human contact involved so ok. Try and finish various DIY projects (the household not Hifi kind) Eat less chocolate (not too worried about his one as I know I will fail Yay! ) Do some gardening Phone those mates I've been meaning to ring since forever and not bothered to. So lets have it from you and on a serious note it may give some people some ideas they didn't have to relieve some boredom! Cheers All EN

If the Postie manages it, I'll have a few PCBs to make up. If that doesn't materialised, I intent to get the hot tub back on for the slightly warmer weather we are expecting, tidy the Garden, Garages and sort out the cars. Both are totally revolting, as kids seem to get more food in the car than in their mouth. We've got trees to cut and such, so if the weather is dry, we have a load to get on with. May even decorate the living room with a quick slap of paint.

I’ll have to break the first rule of Covid Isolation Resolutions... Now going to see Angus on Saturday to pick up my SP10 and modded KB and fit the Phonomac AT1010. So I would spend 6 months listening to vinyl. In my dream world. Think my missus will have other ideas. Another asthmatic here.. so need to take care. However this house really does need sorting. Much decorating to do that normal life got in the way of. An attic full of Sh#t. A bike would be a good idea. What sort?

The mrs is susceptible to chest infections and has high blood pressure so we're self isolating.
Hiking and biking for us, gardening - hope the weather is kind. Will get the exercise bike out from behind the sofa today and set it up in the conservatory - within easy reach of a headphone-based hifi mini-rig so I can listen reasonably optimally while pedalling in poor weather. Lots of reading. There's loads of house maintenance that has been put off for years, I might even get around to doing some of that if I got really desperate.

Like the people who bought that carpet?
Not their fault, they were probably old.

I have a folding bike but you can get decent 2nd hand mountain bikes for a couple of hundred , or less probably. Any old jalopy would get you out and about tbh.

When we bought the place the mrs said that carpet would be the first thing to be changed. But she came round to my way of thinking. Eventually. Now she likes it and says if we ever replace it [it is a bit worn in places] we'll have to get something as similar as possible. It's an acquired taste - Alan [ firebottle] has visited us there, and managed not to throw up.

yeah but look at Alan's trousers. He's used to it.
There's worse though, you should have seen what was in my house when I moved in.

No. Day 5 for me here. Luckily I have a large garden, so plenty of space around me, and plenty to do in that space to keep it tidy.

Not bored as have work, but realised I'm not ready to retire yet despite my wishful thinking!

Not bored as have work, but realised I'm not ready to retire yet despite my wishful thinking! It’s interesting isn’t it. When your stressed through work and the stuff you have to do for work .. retirement seems the solution. I’m sort of semi retired.. but my work for this summer as a consultant is under threat because of the virus threat to contracts. Careful what you wish for!

Retirement is brilliant,as long as you have interests and enough to keep you busy. Mind you just laying about listening to music is also good I can spend hours doing that😊

Went for a ride today, beautiful and sunny but fairly chilly still. Only 30 mins but it felt good to be outside and get some exercise. Did some bits in the garden , the plum tree is in full blossom now too.
