Due to a little change around at home, I'm on the lookout for a Small DAC to run with my Raspberry Pi.
I've got a limited case width I can work with of a maximum 19cm / 7.5in.
Currently using my Chord Mojo but would like something more permanent.
Any suggestions on what I should be looking at?

Thanks all - I've now gone down the Khadas Tone Board route.
First impressions are positive - need some time for it to bed in as replaced my Speaker Cable at same time but hopefully this will see me right for a little while.

I have a Khardas tone board doing nothing if you are interested? Sorry Alan, we don't need another dac, and not only that I would have no idea what to do with a board. Soldering is the devils work as far as I'm concerned.

For anyone interested the Khardas board is a stand alone Dac board, apply power (plug in) and SPDIF and that's it.

The Musical Fidelity V DAC is an excellent smallish DAC about the size of a large box of matches and can be powered by the VPSU which is the same size and can power up 3 V Series products at once the V LPS phono stage and the V CAN headphone amp. The V DAC is a bit old now tecnology wise but still sounds excellent and stands up to many more modern designs it can play files up to 24/192 throw it's coaxil input and also USB and Toslink both at 16/44. It has real analogue sound with excellent midrange and really excells with CD Rips and with streaming apps like TIdal I use mine with a Chromecast Audio and a Fiio M9 DAP.

This is Flippin' SUPERB. Tried a few CD tracks, superb. Now trying favourite files off the SSD, superb. It's like you can reach out and hold it. The distinction between every note, even when things get busy. Guitars sound more real, I wish you could hear what I'm hearing. Recommended without hesitation. Listening to one of my all time favourite tracks, Little Wing by SRV, I have always though I could listen to this all day on repeat, now make that all month (though that may come to pass )

Can I ask, did you purchase it through Amazon, or is there somewhere else cheaper?

Yes I got it through Amazon. The quoted delivery was end April/beginning May so I'm well chuffed it has come early. I think I am going to get billed £18 import but that's not bad. James it's difficult to describe when there is less , less distortion, less constraint to the sound.

I have been reading some reviews over on Head fi and the impression is a very clear holographic sound stage with great clarity to the recordings. Only negative is some issue with USB support over windows?
