Does anyone have any recommendations for anyone I could use to set up my LP12 in either Cambridgeshire or Northamptonshire?
I've changed tonearms, armboard and cartridge recently and it isn't bouncing as well as it used to so I'm trying to get someone that knows what they are doing (ie not me!!) to get it to where it needs to be.
I've asked my local Linn dealer but they are 'strongly advising' I have their proper service including oil and belt change (which I've already done myself) as well as new springs and grommets etc which will be in the region of £250 + which is more than I wish to spend.
If anyone can point me in the right direction of someone that can set the suspension correctly, I'm happy doing everything else (in fact have already done so).
Thanks in advance.

Which arm and chassis have you moved from and to?
Assuming they're not weight incompatible with good setup I'd do it for petrol costs from Sheffield.

DSJR in Felixstowe (as far as I remember) - nice easy drive on A14, about 90 minutes from Cambridge.

Thanks all - I'll try getting hold of DSJR and see what we can come up with.
Unfortunately at the minute, there's no such thing as a nice easy drive on the A14 East of Brampton!!!!

There's a very local Linn dealer here who can help you, the workshop in which where I sometimes hang out these days (why do you think I'm all but defending the bloody LP12 these days apart from huge costs - I've become rather familiar with them again ) Brampton - is that Northampton? What about Nth West of there to the Linn Guru himself in Leicestershire (Cymbiosis)? Pete S is arguably the most experienced single minded and dedicated Linnie-vinyl-man around these days and with masses of experience for this model old and new (although I predate him by a good few years and had training from the man who sorted the original setup procedure {Naim's Julian Vereker, believe it or not], as well as Jimmy Hughes, who ALWAYS managed a good sound from the deck) and he carries stocks of selected old parts (he rejects a lot of used stuff I gather). The thing is, OLD LP12's are an effin' minefield and at thirty to nearly fifty years old, some samples made up until the early 90's where a good few revisions were done, have all manner of potential Sh#t happening with bearings and plinths which are very costly to sort out, although parts are available. I can happily advise generally here if needed to.
