I am after a decent quality cable to make an RCA to XLR cable for my amps. I don't want to modify my existing OCC silver RCA to RCA cable, and I want something that will be easy to fit decent plugs on that are readily available in pairs.

Neotech is pretty standard for this job although DH Labs did some interesting stuff. |

The Neotech is 11mm, and needs trimming or stupid size plugs.

Rectangular OCC silver looks different.

Any thoughts on the Neotech Nemoi 1220? Rectangular OCC silver looks different. It strikes me as having a massive surface area but I have no idea how that would affect things. I looked at the Neotech square speaker cable whilst I was researching potential cables for my Spotfire stuff but I remember reading that it wpuldnt be as good as stranded, but I cant recall what it was, or where it was or even if it would correspond to this cable. |

Another option is the Yarbo pure silver from HiFi collective, but it is straying away from OCC.
I need to find a good way to trim 1mm diameter of the outer insulation off, and then I can use the Neotech I have elsewhere.

I did that and they have been fine. |

Yup , that's what I would do , then heatshrink it . Absolutely Its sometimes the only way. I'll probably be converting my 686 to RCA eventually. XLR plugs aren't great and I cant play too much with other gear due to the cable limitations. |

Get the gold plated ones...Rhodium ruins HF and makes it glassy and etched in my experience. I opted for these instead:   |

K, I'm just about to whip these off a pair of Spotfire. I've gone back to fully RCA. Think they cost £50ish for the set. If you want them, chuck £30 at me and ill post them over. One of the plugs has the latching clip missing but it makes absolutely no difference here.    |
