I am thinking of getting some new anodised black panels made for my amps, engraved with “Neurochrome” and “Modulus -86” and having the led hole drilled, as well as a ho,e for a power switch. I have not looked into the costs yet though.
Has anybody used one of the companies on line that advertise this type of thing? If so, are they any good?

They are not too shabby. It may be tricky getting rid of the FBs though, as there are currently two sets for sale.

Advert is up on AoS at £600 for the pair, with a couple of spare valves.

We will see if they sell or not. I can afford to keep both, but they won’t get used. It is also money towards a bigger 86.

I've used schaefner for front and back panels. Costs vary hugely. For real cnc front panels from them, post anodized, expect to pay 100 each for full width 10mm thick, and about 60 for rear. It depends on cuts and finish.
If you know what you want I can prep a file for you so you can use their online costing tool to work out the money.

Thanks for the info, and offer of help. The ones I need are half width, so hopefully less than £100. At £100, I may as well replace the complete chassis. I will have a think about it, as it is purely cosmetic.

Couldn't you drill (or get it done) for the power switch then get the panels black anodised. You'd have to find a friendly anodiser, perhaps there is one in Toulouse or a contact at work?

I can drill it for the power switch, but I was thinking of being a tart, a bit like Oli, and having a bit of engraving done at the same time. Plenty of contacts at work, but this type of thing has been clamped down on. I don’t like paying the aerospace prices either! If it is too expensive, I may as well just leave it alone, with my new switches.

Being a practical type of person, I have just lowered the shelf on my HiFi rack, so that access to the switches is a bit easier. I popped the front off one, and the switches will have to be located on the left of the fascia, as the transformer takes up a bit of space.
Part of me says a nice front panel with an on/off switch would be good, and the other part kind of thinks it will be a shame to spoil the clean look. I will, leave it a while longer before I make a decision, as the short term issue is solved.

I will have a think about it, as it is purely cosmetic. I think you'll struggle tbh to find any company that will cnc mill and print/anodise for less than £100 per panel, even if yours is a little smaller than standard width. Set-up time is likely the same, machining time is likely the same and anodising/print costs are likely the exact same. The other thing to note is that many companies will cnc mill for you but they often sub contract the anodising and screen printing or whatever method they use. I enquired not that long ago into costs for an all aluminium chassis with extruded main case, printed/anodised front and rear 5mm panels and it was close on £300 per completed unit.

Just a heads up, those custom Paradise front panel were less than I though an additional 45 euros each. So that £300 in total for 2x 2u high 10mm front modushop cases. Not bad.

I'll enquire if he'll do a batch, usually they only do them with an order. I expect if I was ordering cases plus say half a dozen extra fronts that they might.
I'll check

They'll be a relatively easy swap as well, lid off, four screw to take out of front panel then reassemble.

Had a few nibbles on the FB Monos, but it seems that the front panels are putting a lot of people off. So, I have worked out that the chassis is a 1907-B chassis as seen on Aliexpress etc.
Anybody know where I can get two plain black “1907” fronts from? It may be cheaper just to buy two new cases, and throw away the bits I don’t want. Seems a bit wasteful though.
