Hi guys , well I had convinced myself that my box swapping was over around 8 months ago ! But no the obsession continues. Hi Andy, Nice to see you here! Box swapping?....you?.....😄 What's the plan 😂😂 Ok so here’s the thing , someone may be able to offer advice. My main current system is Conrad Johnson Sonographe pre and power , Xiang sheng dac , magnum dynalab tuner , digital source is a PS4 , Tannoy SRM12x speakers. The second system......I bought a pair of Sonus Faber Concertinos locally for very little money ( they’re shockingly good btw) I hooked them up to the alchemist kraken pre and power ( class A ) and thought could I improve on the bass in any way ( previous speakers were Kef 103 ) , I then read that the Concertinos like a lot of power so I thought I’ll try the Sonographes with them and boy oh boy did they wake up ( stunning) , so I then plug the alchemist krakens into the main system and this is the confusing thing ! I suddenly have more bass from the tannoys 🤷🏼♂️. Swap all cables over too , same results. So wtf is going on ? Ps the Sonographes are back in the main system ( they just do everything right ) .

Hi Andy, hope all is good with you. I think you are just getting a better synergy between the Kraken and the load presented by the Tannoy, sometimes it doesn't compute but that's it.

That would make sense Alan , cheers.

Haha, not sure I'm enthusiastic about it anymore lol. I'm ok thanks, recovering from the latest surgery to put my thumb back in the right place and hopefully get back to some semblance of normality. On the mend now and busy making phonostages, or should say will be!
