Having put together the amp, speaker cables and speakers of my little budget system (Breeze Audio TPA3116 100 WATT per Channel, QED Ruby cables and JBL Control 1's) which I'm very happy with I'm now looking for a digital source and I'm thinking a Pi with a Digi board connected to a dac. Music will be CD Rips and High Res files stored on a USB device, Tidal and iRadio using Volumio on the Pi the problem is I will not have a wifi network so am hoping that it's possible to use my iphone SE as Volumio controller to bluetooth or Airplay music stored on the USB device conneted to the Pi and also Tidal through to my dac without any wifi network

I've gone down a different route and bought a Fiio M9 DAP that has both analogue and digital out so can be connected directly to an amp so using it's twin on board DAC's or used as a transport bypassing those DAC's via the coaxial out to a seperate DAC.
It also has Tidal preloaded which I subscribe to which can be used in offline mode so without the need for wifi it can also load other streaming services like Quboz and Spotify and also be used as a Roon endpoint and the latest firmware update has Airplay included.
It can also take up to 2TB of songs loaded onto an SD card. So it pretty much ticks all my boxes and has the added bonus of being a portable DAP.
