Got made redundant today after six years on the job. Bollox.
Still, 30 days gardening leave and a kitchen to finish and 3 phonostages to build.

Tidy up my cv, hit up a few agencies, and do all the jobs I've been putting off. Do some kitesurfing, visit a few hifi buds. Build all those Paradises people have been asking for.
I also have a big cad job to do, so no signing on for a month at least.
I'll be rite

When I needed a CV a year ago, I paid a company called Purple CVs to have a look. Negotiable price via live chat btw. They did a superb job and made sure the CV didn't get overlooked by the sifting software. 4 interviews from 4 applications and then 3 job offers a week later. Highly recommend it. Even though I am more than capable of the written work, I struggle to see my good points. They are experts at it.

Oli, I've thrown my cv over to purple, well see what they do. Doing a lot of copywriting in my job I'm intrigued to see what they do to it. I'm happy with the content, hopefully their experience in recruitment will highlight any issues with format and style.

The bit that is worth paying for IMO, is the fact they run the CV through the industry standard sifting software They maximise the amount of "buzzwords" it picks up so your CV goes to the top of the marking system I didn't know anything about that, and regardless of the endless list of letters the wife has after her name, it was that bit that we needed to make a breakthrough I was impressed with their work and you get free updates to it for 12 months so it's a service rather than a purchase

But do not despair, there is an infinite amount of employer's out there that are falling over themselves.....TO USE YOU !!!
