I decided to write a series of articles that would help people out in understanding audio. I have found through my experiences that good information is hard to come by. Anyway, the articles will be ranging in topics and technical levels.
Questions, comments, recommendations welcome.

Hi Leo,
I love this idea. Great easy to follow explanations.
As a point of interest, where would the PecanPi sit in the ASR DAC rankings?

Hi Leo, I love this idea. Great easy to follow explanations. As a point of interest, where would the PecanPi sit in the ASR DAC rankings? Thank you. Amir (ASR) has a graph that lists DAC's side by side with the SINAD measurement. SINAD is same as THD+N. PecanPi comes in at 110dB so it will be towards the top of the graph. I don't believe that SINAD alone gives a full picture of how good a DAC sounds/performs.

I'm still wowed by it and enjoy it daily.

I'm confused, is it -110db or 130 as mentioned on facebook?

Signal to noise 130db
SINAD 110db
SINAD includes distortion as well as noise so is going to be lower.
Most amplifiers seem to be around 80dB or worse so that's the bottle neck. Except it isn't really as 80dB is loads. Nothing wrong with making stuff as good as it can be though.

Macca is correct. SNR and SINAD are different things.
